She rides on full-displacement hulls that were retooled in 1999 with a finer entry and wider chines. When it comes to fishing boats, the advantages of catamarans are well known: a better ride in poor sea conditions, reduced power requirements (due to the more efficient hulls), increased range, improved stability and more casting space at the bow. Note that the Island Runner's cabin is slightly off-center to port which puts the cabin over one of the hulls, thereby increasing the headroom below. (It also means that the starboard walk around is wider than the portside walk around.) Standard fishing features include an oval live well under the helm seat, two in-deck fish boxes, coaming bolsters, tackle center and rod storage. In the cabin, a queen-size berth is over the tunnel and a spacious head compartment is located in the port hull.
